Preparation of the Cartography of the Arts in Education in Catalonia, promoted by the National Council for Culture and the Arts CONCA, 2022. (First phase)
The Cartography of the Arts in Education is a project under construction that aims to show the presence of the arts in Catalan schools and institutes, as well as publicize the institutions, entities and groups that promote programs and projects in this area.
It was born within the framework of the 1st Forum of the Arts in Education, whose purpose is to promote the incorporation of the arts in compulsory education, as a way to achieve a sufficient level of artistic literacy of the citizenry, in such a way that the capacity for critical access to the arts (with the consequent increase in audiences), as well as the capacity to practice the arts and express themselves creatively.
For this purpose, CONCA makes available an active and continuous mailbox to receive proposals with the aim of incorporating them in new revisions and extensions. If you have an artistic project that takes place during the school hours of compulsory education, you can fill in the questionnaires that you will find on this page according to your type of entity.

The community arts are living a moment of special visibility in Catalonia and, for this reason, it is especially interesting that the National Council of Culture and Arts echoes exactly this in its annual report.
This article offers the reader elements to find out about community arts and get an idea of the diversity of existing proposals, the breadth of approaches, and the variety of points of view that bring together the projects and organizations that promote this type of artistic activity. In addition, the approach to the current Catalan reality raises questions and proposes challenges to an activity that is developing in an environment of tension with the dominant system.
Despite being aware of differences and existing divergent positions, we can feel the possibility of creating our own space for the development of these projects. That could constitute a network of mutual support, use of resources and knowledge and, ultimately, an articulated system of the sector, from different logics to the prevailing ones

The report starts with the analysis of previous studies, with data collected through interviews and focus groups, offering a current perspective on the sector and proposing recommendations.

The 4th edition of “Abierto al público” is a monograph on “Performing Arts and Social Inclusion”. With the help of experts in this field, the Network has tried to address the theme of “arts in diversity” from different perspectives in the search for an answer to its valorization and normalization.
It is evident that any project that focuses on breaking down the barriers that make culture equally inaccessible to everyone, both in a participative and active mode, is an example of good practice. But we do not try through this publication to compile a set of good intentions. We actually try to go down to the palpable reality and relate plural experiences that, over the years, have materialized as stable projects, which were sustained over time and that have found a path to promote social inclusion and functional diversity. The combination between public and private initiative is configured as the only viable way that will allow us to achieve these goals.
The Spanish Network of Theaters wants in this issue of “Abierto al público” to explore real situations and to highlight praiseworthy experiences, as they pursue the loyalty and tenacity of practitioners, a process of social inclusion and functional diversity in the performing arts evaluation chain.
The publication is divided into two chapters: “Performing Arts and Diversity” and “Performing Arts and Community”.
