The Cartography of the Arts in Education is a project under construction that aims to show the presence of the arts in Catalan schools and institutes, as well as publicize the institutions, entities and groups that promote programs and projects in this area.

The 4th edition of “Abierto al público” is a monograph on “Performing Arts and Social Inclusion”. With the help of experts in this field, the Network has tried to address the theme of “arts in diversity” from different perspectives in the search for an answer to its valorization and normalization.
It is evident that any project that focuses on breaking down the barriers that make culture equally inaccessible to everyone, both in a participative and active mode, is an example of good practice. But we do not try through this publication to compile a set of good intentions. We actually try to go down to the palpable reality and relate plural experiences that, over the years, have materialized as stable projects, which were sustained over time and that have found a path to promote social inclusion and functional diversity. The combination between public and private initiative is configured as the only viable way that will allow us to achieve these goals.
The Spanish Network of Theaters wants in this issue of “Abierto al público” to explore real situations and to highlight praiseworthy experiences, as they pursue the loyalty and tenacity of practitioners, a process of social inclusion and functional diversity in the performing arts evaluation chain.
