Aquario is a series of artistic actions – live arts and illustration – based on meeting and creating spaces between the Chinese population of Barcelona, and their neighbours.
Having in mind globalization where communities are displaced, causing, among others, a culture shock, the Chinese population has the stigma of non-integration. We take the example of the Chinese community to highlight the cultural tensions that occur in our contemporary world, mainly focused in migrants and host communities’ feelings of displacement.
Aquario Barcelona follows a previous pilot project in a smaller format and duration developed in the Madrid neighbourhood of Usera by MOVE arte para todos.
