For five years (2012-2016) I had the opportunity to be the Contents and Production Coordinator of this Conference on social inclusion and education in the performing arts. I learned a great deal. It was my first experience attached to an institution and it allowed me to get to know far more intimately the theaters of the Spanish territory, becoming aware of how to build partnerships with the community and inclusive creation sector. Afterwards (2017-2019), I continued collaborating with the organizing committee, as a content assessor along with two colleagues. Currently, I am the conference’s artistic director.
The Conference has become an annual meeting point of enormous value for the sector and a space to make the inclusive and community arts visible throughout the Spanish territory. Reports and recordings since 2012 are available online.
On the occasion of the X anniversary in 2018, I coordinated the commemorative publication, together with my colleagues from this commission. It’s a book that collects articles of experts from diverse areas of practice and research includes an easy reading and a compendium of the contents treated in these ten years of conferences. The prologue includes a summary of the last ten years, written by my dear Paz Santa Cecilia and myself.
